TIERNEY, Fintan (January 9, 2008) Butlersbridge, Co. Cavan - Fintan's wife Mary, daughters Fiona, Orla and Aideen, sons Fintan and Conor, together with their families and Fintan's brothers, Paddy and Vincent, wish to express our sincere gratitude to all those who sympathised with us on his recent death. We wish to thank most sincerely all those who called to our home and attended the funeral Mass; to the many hundreds who have sent Mass Cards, enrolment cards, letters, messages of sympathy, and donations to Cavan Cancer Homecare; to everyone who supported us during Fintan's illness and who continue to support us at this difficult time. Special thanks to the Oncology Team at Cavan General Hospital and the Homecare Team of St. Christopher's Hospice, Cavan, his surgeon, doctors and nurses for their overwhelming kindness to Fintan. Sincere thanks to Fr. John Gilhooley for his support during Fintan's illness and his dignified leadership of the funeral ceremonies. Also to Fr. Felim Kelly, Mons. John Killeen and Fr. Pat Fahy for assisting at the funeral Mass, to Fr. Gerry Kearns and Carmel O'Donohoe for the beautiful music and singing at his Mass. Deep appreciation to John McMahon, Funeral Undertaker, for his guidance, support and help. Thank you to Butlersbridge GFC and Ballyhaise GFC for their respectful guards of honour, and to the extended GAA organisation for their sympathy and support. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
