We extend our thanks to those who attended his funeral, sent Mass Cards, letters, messages of sympathy and to those who sent donations to the RNLI. We would like to offer our great appreciation for the care and attention given to Franz during the difficult six years of his illness by Dr. Frank Marmion and the girls at the Carysfort Clinic, to Lorcan, Deirdre and the girls in Mackens Pharmacy, to Mr Mick Murphy, Ann Lehane and the girls in the day unit at the Beacon Clinic, to Ann Dunne and the nurses from the H.S.E., to the many special carers who attended to Franz at home, especially Victor, Kelly, Skha, Star and Liz but especially to his full time carer Eugenijus. Very special thanks to Rose and her wonderful staff at Glengara Nursing Home where Franz spent his last year under their very caring attention. We are also indebted to Mark, Bernie and Philip of the Royal Irish Yacht Club and to Harry Gallagher of Howth Yacht Club both of whom contacted family members involved in sailing events and who took such care of us on the day Franz died. We also thank Padraic Conneely and the staff of the National Yacht Club for their care and attention on the day of the funeral. We owe a special thanks to Rev. Gary Dowd for his attention and caring advice to us during the days following Franz's death. To the Rev. Gary and his Curate Rev. Paul Arbuthnot we owe a tremendous debt of gratitude for the moving funeral service in St. Paul's Church and our thanks also to the Organist and musicians. We also appreciate the sensitive care given to us by Mr Carnegie and his staff. Finally the immediate family express a special word of thanks to Maeve Casey, Pat Douglas for their help and support and to Adam for the wonderful oration he gave of his Dad and to Chloe. We hope this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our gratitude.Auf wiederhesen to "the Dad"
