DOOLEY Christy - On the First Anniversary of Christy's death, his wife Maisie and daughters Tressan and Verran wish to thank all those who eased his passing, made his funeral such a memorable occasion and helped us since to endure his absence. We wish to thank his G.P. Billy Herterich and Dr. Frank Sullivan with Ger O'Boyle and the team at UCHG for years of attentive treatment. They were friends and he trusted them. We also wish to thank the nurses in Galway Hospice for the great care they took of him in his last days. To the many hundreds who attended his funeral, gave Mass cards, wrote lovely letters, and shared so many memories of his long and varied life, we extend our gratitude. We thank Michael Dooley and Carl Hession for arranging the music for Christy's Mass, and all those who so beautifully performed it, Conor Biggs, Margaret Duggan and the Jes Choir. We thank the celebrant Fr. Martin Downey who had to 'migrate' to the Jes, and his concelebrants Msgr. Dermot Moloney, Canon Mulkerrins, Fr. Paul Brassil who kindly made the church available and Fr. Terence Sweeney from the Claddagh. Maxim's eulogy touched every aspect of Christy's life so that there was laughter as well as tears. We thank Caitriona and Mike of O'Flaherty's Undertakers who made the funeral arrangements with their customary sensitivity. We thank our neighbours and friends who produced such an abundance of food, and continue to provide sustenance and support in so many other ways. We express our deepest gratitude to those who contributed so generously to the Western Society for Autism. Lastly, we thank those who care for Ronan and have helped him accept - in his own words - that "Dad-dee gone Heaven".
