CASSIDY (Eddie) (Raheen, Elphin) (died May 8, 2006) - His wife Chris, daughters Marie, Teresa, sons Eddie and Paschal, sister Vergie, brother Jimmy, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and extended family, would like to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them on the loss of a very special husband, father, brother, friend and person. We would like to thank especially our wonderful neighbours in Raheen and beyond, Eddies' fantastic relations, and all of our many friends who supported us so closely during Eddies brief illness, and were with us and him throughout this most difficult time. A special thanks to all of you who visited Eddie in hospital, and those who were able to comfort, pray for, and anoint him during this time. Thanks to the staff in Beaumont and Roscommon Hospitals, and in particular the Palliative Care Unit in Roscommon who made Eddie as comfortable as possible during his final weeks. We thank each and every person who travelled long distances to be at the funeral, called to the house to pay their respects, attended Eddies removal, Requiem Mass and burial. For all the Mass bouquets, Mass Cards, telephone calls, floral tributes and beautiful letters of sympathy we received, we are deeply grateful. Many thanks to the Raheen Pipe Band (of whom Eddie was a founding member) who piped Eddie so beautifully on his final journey from Kilmaryal Crossroads to the Church. It was wonderful that so many of Eddies musical friends were able to make those heart breaking days so less painful, yet memorable, with the beautiful music that was played at his reposing house in Raheen, outside the funeral home in Elphin, at the removal, Requiem Mass, and by the graveside in Mantua Cemetery. To one and all, we thank you most sincerely for your musical contributions. To Fr. J.J. Gannon and fellow priests, to our singers and organist who contributed beautifully to Eddies' Requiem Mass, we extend our gratitude. Also our sincere thanks to Brady Undertakers and An Bothar Rua. To those musicians who played at the Months Mind, your presence was much appreciated. We trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere gratitude to all of you who helped and comforted us in sending our beloved Eddie to his eternal rest. The Holy Sacrifice of Mass will be offered for your intentions.
