KENNY (May) (née Tighe) (Peck's Lane, Castleknock) - On today the First Anniversary of May's death, we, her daughters and sons, together with her sister Sheila and our extended families would like to express our gratitude to all who sympathised with us at that time. We greatly appreciated all those who sent Mass Cards, perpetual enrolments, wreaths, floral tributes and especially letters of sympathy and phone calls that truly spoke from your hearts. Many of you shared our vigil at home and your attendance at the removal, funeral Mass and burial was a comfort to us all and a validation of our intent to celebrate May's long life. A special thank you to Fr Denis O'Connor C.S.s.R.C.C. for attention to spiritual needs, thereby enabling expression of May's Christian conviction throughout her illness. Fr O'Connor received May's remains and honoured her life with an informed and touching Homily. To Fr O'Connor, Fr Maurice O'Shea P.P. and Fr Connolly who concelebrated May's funeral Mass, ár mbuíochas. We remember the Mass Servers, Bethany Bereavement Support Group, the Flower Group (Mary and Sheila) who arranged the magnificent flowers donated by our neighbours in Peck's Lane. The facility of hot drinks and accommodation in our parish hall was appreciated, thanks to all volunteers involved. We recall the contribution of Sr Marie deLourdes, Triona Ní Dhomhnaill, our cousins and friends for blending Liturgy and music in celebration of life and hope. You generously contributed to the Carers Association and we thank their associate Mary Swift who ensured respite for family members involved in May's care plan. To Dr John O'Brien and the Frontline Care Workers of the Northern Area Healthboard, our thanks for years of care and professional attention. May always enjoyed and valued the company of her family and friends, the enduring friendship of neighbours in Ballyfermot and the practical help, social inclusion and respect from young people and their parents in Castleknock brought a quality and energy to May's advanced years. We are grateful to Sr Marie deLourdes and Sr Kieran of Mountsackville, to Johns Lyons and Doyle who visited with regularity, prior to and during May's long illness; to Albert, Vera and Rosemary for praying with May and for invocation on her behalf; to Betty Cullen and Margaret O'Neill for company and support over many years and to Margaret Duffy, our home help, who eased May's physical burden; to Lily, Veronica and Mary your able involvement with our family and visitors allied to your care and evident love for May allowed us to relax when required, our thanks. We thank Lanigan's Funeral Directors for an accommodating and professional service, the Treacy Family for their concern and assistance, the Management and Staff of The Carpenter for a splendid meal, Medtronic Galway, Mark Ellis Pharmacies, The Bread Shop, FÁS and their director Roddy Molloy, Muintir na Tíre, Vivo Food Store, Castleknock Active Retirement, Advanced Heating Systems (Radu), Kinvara Credit Union, Kinvara Singers, Jim Nolan Chauffeur Services, girls at The Del Boutique, Deutsche Bahn Frankfurt, Aer Lingus Flight Services and Cork Base Cabin Crew.
