Fond Memories of Great Childhood Friend

Yatzee, UNO, snooker, flap jacks, homemade brown bread, sloe gin, football, pitch and putt in the garden, the odd broken pane of glass in the glasshouse, a garden of flowers and veg, boxes of blue jeans and an ever open invitation to share and enjoy it all with a great kid. A true friend, who had a bit of a rough cough from time to time, (not alot of us understood the full extent of his condition when we were young), but who wanted to draw and construct bridges when he was older. He could, however have done anything, Killian had the edge on us all, where brains were concerned. I knocked on Hassey's door countless times, but don't think I ever fully appreciated the warm welcome I would always get from Killian before we would proceed to play one game or other. I can rarely remember him being angry, and the times he was, it never really suited him. He was pure practical, and just got on with things, it was great to have known him and to have been his friend. Mr & Mrs Hassey, Mark, Catriona, I am so sorry for your loss. Paul Murphy.

A True Gent and a Fantastic Friend

I was devastated when I took the call from my sister as she told me of Killians passing. Killian and I grew up together and were in the same class in Glounthaune Primary. I have very fond memories of all the great moments in time we were lucky enough to spend together. Attending classmates birthdays, spending summers swimming, and playing tennis together, and many other activities

Killian had such a fantastic sense of humour and was always there through thick and thin. You could not have asked for a better person to be mates with.

Killian, you may be gone, but you certainly will never be forgotten. I will cherish and hold dear all the great times we had growing up together.

Mr and Mrs Hassey, Mark and Catriona, I'm so very sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you all. Killian, Rest in Peace.

Declan Mc Namara

An Inspiration To Us All

I was very saddened to hear the tragic news of Killian's passing away. I feel fortunate to have had the opportunity of going to both primary and secondary school with Killian. Super smart and generous with his time; if you didn't understand the solution to the physics problem or how to conjugate the french verb, Killian was the man to consult. He was my partner for chemistry practicals in Midleton. I think I drove him mad, particularly whenever there were titrations involved, because I was always in a rush to finish and he was the professional and perfectionist. He never spoke about his illness and I'm sure many people in our class were not even aware of his suffering. I really admired Killian's spirit and determination. He is an inspiration to us all. Barbara, Tom, Mark and Catriona I am so sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace.
