TIERNEY (Lavally, Mallow, Co. Cork and native of Bawnmore, Crosspatrick, Co. Kilkenny) - May 26, 2009, peacefully, in the expert care of Marymount Hospice, Cork, surrounded by his family, Jack (John) (former Deputy Principal of Patrician Academy, Mallow and elected Independent Member of Mallow Town Council), beloved husband of Una (O'Shiel) and dear Dad of Colm, Eoin and Julie. He will be greatly missed by all his family, brothers Eamon and Pat, sister-in-law Margaret, granddaughter Eimear, Siobhan, nephews, nieces, the O'Shiel family, cousins, colleagues in Education and politics, past pupils, relatives, neighbours and his many friends. May he rest in peace. Lying in repose at O'Connell's Funeral Home, St James's Avenue, Mallow on Thursday evening from 5.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. followed by removal to St Mary's Church. Requiem Mass on Friday at 2 p.m. Funeral afterwards to St Gobnait's Cemetery.
