LUPTON (née Lynch) Angela (former Mayor of Galway) Highfield Park, Galway who died on March 29, 2007 - Angela's family would like to thank most sincerely everyone who supported and sympathised with us on the occasion of Angela's death, including the large number of people who attended Angela's funeral to celebrate her remarkable life. We would also like to thank all those who sent so many letters, flowers, Mass bouquets and cards of sympathy and support. We very much appreciated Fr. Martin Downey's touching ceremony and are grateful to the Patrician Musical Society, of which Angela was a founding member, for their wonderful music at the Cathedral. Angela contributed many years of service to the people of Galway through her work with the City Council, The Harbour Company, the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology and many sports clubs and societies. We wish to thank the Mayors, Aldermen, Councillors and officials of Galway City and County for their attendance and guard of honour at her grave and for their acknowledgement of her life's efforts and of her love of the people and the city of Galway. We wish to thank the hockey clubs of Connaught for their guard of honour at the church and on the Salmon Weir Bridge. We are especially grateful to the staff of University College Hospital Galway and of Beaumont Hospital Dublin and we will always remember the wonderful care and compassion provided by the sisters and nurses of St. Patrick's Ward, UCHG during her illness. It would be impossible to thank everyone individually. However, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to you all. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions.May Angela rest in peace.
