Peter Brown in Donabate

Dear Jane

As you may remember, I was in Masonic with Jonathan. He used to come out home with me on Sundays and any other days that we were allowed out of the school. As I remembe, I visited you home on at least one occasion and have very happy memories of that holiday and of your mother's kindness to me. She regaled me with stories of her experiences of London in the blitz and of the American soldiers in Derry.

Jonathan was a good friend and a lovely person. For many years after he left school he on occasions visited my mother n Phibsborough and he kept in touch until mum went into a home and then we lost touch.

I am sure that you will miss him greatly and that he will be a great loss to you,

From what I heard from other past pupils, he suffered a long illness and if it is any consolation to you, he is now in a better place.

I certainly have happy memories of the times that we had together as young lads.

Please accept my condolances on his passing

Peter
