Deepest sympathies

We were shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the tragic accident involving Dr Slazenger and his colleague last weekend. Dr Slazenger was a close friend of my parents, John and Stella Varian and I remember fondly how they have spoken of him over the years as a close friend, working partner and skilled anaesthetist. The Slazenger family is in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. God bless you all, Paul, Kim and family (Vancouver, Canada)

With Deepest Sympathy

It was with great sorrow that Carmel and I came to hear of the tragic accident which brought about the untimely death of Michael and his friend on Saturday.

I recall with fondness Michael’s visits to Castlebridge Airfield over the years and also have wonderful memories of meeting Michael and his family, at the various aviation events of the past. In particular a magnificent evening spent at Powerscourt on the occasion of the first Ballyfree Air Rally and Race. Although I have not met Michael for many years now, I feel the loss of a great friend and colleague and I know we will surely miss his ready smile and good humoured banter in the future.

We regret our inability to attend the funeral service in person, as we are currently overseas. Our thoughts and prayers are, none the less, very much with you and your family at this sorrowful time and we pray that Our Lord will give you the strength and courage to overcome your great loss.

May he rest in peace

John and Carmel O’Loughlin

My Sympathies Are With You All

Dear Noreen,Wendy, John, Peter & Joanie,

It has been many years since I have been in touch but I remember a happy summer with all of you 1974 - happy days.

My heart goes out to you all during these sad days, no words will ease your pain. However you were blest having Michael for so much of your lives and I'm sure he will continue to watch over you and love you from above, just as you will continue to love him. One thing I am sure, love is intangible and continues after we leave this earth.

Anne Bergl (Dubai)

Dr Michael Slazenger

Mike please rest now (my godfather). You have been a wonderful role model in my life. You have kept me grounded. Times in London me and all the girls had a blast. I have since been with my brother and sister in law to powerscourt and you were great. You picked us ALL up in a little car from Bray suitcases and all. We had a wondeful day with you and Noreen. You will never know how much fun we had. I remember Noreen cooking an amazing chilli. Before this tragic accident I had booked to come over and see you all - I wanted you to meet my children. I now know you will be looking upon them and guiding them. I wish I had spent more time with you. Life has past. We can not look back but we can look above and feel connection with you the one we have lost but you are now the the star above. Love and god bless. Let your love of flying take you to the angels. Kathryn Fisher. God bless Mike love you. x
