KING, Aoife, Aghowle, Ashford, Co. Wicklow. (Died October 8, 2008. Budapest). On the first anniversary of Aoife's death, her parents Jim and Noreen and her brother Oisín wish to thank all those who sympathised with us on the tragic loss of our daughter and sister. We thank especially Richard, Marie and Darragh who came to Budapest to be with us and were such a support to us there. Thanks to the medical team at the Arpad Hospital in Budapest, to his Excellency Ambassador Martin Greene and to Dermot McGauran, Deputy Head of Mission of the Irish Embassy for their invaluable help and guidance. To Gabor and the academic staff at Corvinus University and to Aoife's flatmates, Laura, Manu, Vincent, Anti and Tapani who could not have been more helpful or hospitable to us. Thanks to all those who kept us going with phone calls and texts while we kept vigil at Aoife's bedside. Thanks also to Dr. Michael Doherty, Audrey Byrne and the staff of Dublin City University, to the volunteers and staff of the Helix Theatre and to Aoife's many friends from D.C.U. We will always be grateful to all those who came to our home to be with Aoife and us before her Farewell Ceremony. We would like to thank especially our wonderful neighbours and our friends from Wicklow and around the country for their generous help and support, those who brought flowers, food, who sent cards and letters of sympathy and Mass Cards and also those who made donations in her name to Bóthar, Goal and the Hospice Movement. Thanks especially to all those who made Aoife's Farewell Ceremony such a moving and fitting farewell to her, especially her singing teachers Toni Walsh and Sylvia O'Regan, who sang so beautifully for her, her flute teacher James Dunne, Christopher Quaid who played the flute so movingly, her Grandaunt Kitty who played the piano, Aislinn O'Sullivan who spoke on behalf of her friends and to Joan for her oration at Mount Jerome. Thanks also to Avril of Collier's Undertakers whose sensitive guidance helped us through that very difficult time. Thank you to all our colleagues in The Probation Service, The Adoption Board, the Departments of Justice and Health and Adoption Agencies around the country for their on-going understanding and support. Thanks also to Assistant Commissioner Fintan Fanning and Sergeant Declan McCarthy and all our local Gardaí for their presence and help in so many ways. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually for the overwhelming support we received, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our grateful appreciation.
