KELLY (John) - On this first anniversary of John's death his wife Margaret, children Peter, John, Maria and Gerard, his grandchildren Linda and Peter, his sister Bridget and daughter-in-law Mary express sincere thanks to all those who provided such wonderful support to him and us during his final illness and death. We thank all those who attended his funeral, sent Mass cards or wrote to us. It was impossible to acknowledge these kindnesses individually and so we hope that this heartfelt expression of thanks is acceptable. We wish to thank John's former colleagues in the Chief State Solicitors Office whose visits to him he appreciated so much. We are most grateful to his general practitioner, Dr. John Ryan, who looked after him so well for many years. We thank Drs. Maeve O'Reilly and Catriona O'Sullivan who both went to endless trouble to ensure that his final months on earth were comfortable. As John often said, we can never repay the debt of gratitude that we owe to Dr. Roisin MacSullivan for her friendship, kindness, generosity and medical expertise which was such a support to him and us and continues to be so. We thank His Eminence Desmond Cardinal Connell and the many priests who attended his removal or concelebrated his funeral Mass. Special thanks are due to Frs. Jim Matthews SCJ, Bobby Mann SCJ, Dermot Kelly O.Carm., Padraig O'Cochlain, John Cunningham O.P., Francis Finegan SJ and Gerard Deighan. They provided enormous spiritual support to him during the months of his illness. Sr. Mary of Mercy was a constant and most welcome visitor to John while he was in hospital. We thank her sincerely. We also thank his many neighbours and friends who supported him and us with such kindess and generosity. Mass will be offered for your welfare and that of your families.
