LYONS (Gay) (FCPA, PC) (Late of Templeogue, Dublin 6W) - On this the First Anniversary of Gay's death (August 9th, 2005), Aileen (née McSorley), Cillian and Ronan would like to express their sincere gratitude to all those who offered their sympathy and support following the sudden loss of a greatly loved husband and father. Gay was a conscientious citizen and a loyal friend and the large attendance of his friends and colleagues at the funeral was a wonderful tribute to his life and work. We thank the large numbers who attended the removal Service and funeral Mass; those who sent Mass Cards and who travelled long distances; and those who called to our home and eased our path in difficult times. A special word of thanks goes to the concelebrants, Fr Manus Lyons, Fr John Flavin (CSSp), Fr Jim McNulty (CSSp), Fr John Byrne (OSA) and Fr Gay Colleran (PP), for the beautiful Mass at St Pius X Church ensuring that it was truly a celebration of Gay's life. Our thanks also go to the readers, the choir and soloist Mary McCague for their well-chosen contributions. We thank Fr P.J. Cassidy and the Missionaries of Africa, Cypress Grove Road, for their Month's Mind Service which brought back happy memories of Gay. Our sincere thanks also go to the ambulance crew and staff of Tallaght Hospital, Dublin, who worked so hard to save Gay's life and to the staff of Fanagans Funeral Home, Harold's Cross and Kilmashogue Cemetery. We would also like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and support from the directors, management and staff of Rathfarnham Credit Union, a 'second home' for Gay and from his colleagues throughout the years, including the Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Denis Ryan and representatives of Fine Gael. We would like to thank all those who made generous contributions to the Irish Heart Foundation. Finally, we would like to thank most earnestly our family, friends and colleagues for their ongoing support in helping us to cope with Gay's sudden parting. The Holy Sacrifice of Mass will be offered for your intentions.
