Missing "Master Forde"
How strange the change - to come to Sligo and find that the Master has gone. As an acolyte of the great man it was always a privilege to call to the Cathedral of Learning in Grange and visit with Master Forde Many the great debate we had on a range of topics including education, sport, history, happenings in Dublin, things in GAA Including the Banner, the intrigue of local, national & foreign politics, world events, etc. Intractable problems were always solved with a stroll on the strand combined with his underlying motto "Carpe Diem".Truly a man for all seasons. I always felt going to 'Ardmaroon ' was akin to a visit with Cicero. We are all so much the poorer for his passing. Fear Mor Nadurach.

Master Forde was a true gentleman!

My brother Patrick and I attended the Grange Tech in 71 for a period of time when we returned from America. He was very kind to us and we often speak of our time there. We were sad when we left school that last day. Even though we were there only for 4 months he and the fine teachers he lead provided us with one of the happiest periods of our life.

We are sorry for your loss but hope your hearts will be softened in hearing all the good that this kind man did from ourselves and I am sure many others. RIP Master Forde

Eamon Forde

Deepest sympathies on the death of your father. He was my principal in grange in 80's. A lovely , warm man. have memories of him chasing us out at breaktime to walk around school for fresh air and exercise, he was probably trying to wake us up. A gentleman.

Catherine Gettins, Ballyshannon
