MEADE, Donal Patrick (September 8, 2008) - On the occasion of his first Anniversary, the family of the late Donal Meade wish to express our sincere gratitude for the sympathy and support offered to us by extended family, cousins and other relatives, friends, neighbours and colleagues on the tragic death of Donal. Donal was loved and respected by those who knew him and therefore we wish to acknowledge the shock and grief that they too felt on his untimely passing. We wish to thank his friends and colleagues in Yorkshire who sympathised with us, those who travelled to meet his remains at Dublin Airport, those who attended his Removal, Funeral Mass and Burial in Cavan, those who travelled long distances, telephoned, wrote letters of sympathy and sent Mass Cards and Mass Enrolments. Special thanks to Fr. Quinn and Fr. Maguire who concelebrated Donal's Funeral Mass and provided spiritual comfort. Our thanks to the singers and choir at Donal's Mass. We would also thank Rev. Dr. Noel Treanor, Bishop of Down and Connor, and Monsignor Patrick Finn, St. Mary's Church, Haddington Road, Dublin, for their support and advice. We wish to express our gratitude to Eamonn and James Matthews and Fergal Hughes, Funeral Undertakers, and to the Gravediggers in Raffoney Cemetery. We wish to acknowledge the past and present members of Cuchulainns GFC who provided a Guard of Honour, team mates from the Cavan County Team of the Seventies, who acted as pall bearers, members and representatives of the 1970 St. Malachy's College Belfast Hogan Cup Team, who attended in great numbers with the President of the College, and past Cavan County players going back to the Forties who attended Donal's Removal and Mass. The Holy Sacrifice of Mass has been offered for your intentions. Donal's first Anniversary Mass will take place in St. Mary's Church, Cross, Mullagh, County Cavan at 10 o'c on Sunday September 13, 2009.
