RYAN Monica (Mona) (née Geraghty) (Caledon Road, East Wall, Dublin and formerly of Collon, Co. Louth) - died peacefully at Nazareth House Nursing Home, Malahide Road, on February 5, 2011 in her 98th year, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Ned Ryan, predeceased by her daughters Eithne and Monica, dear mother to her children Michael (Mick), Gretta (Ui Murchu), Winifred (O'Donnell), Gertrude (Morris) and Nicholas. In her lifetime Mona was also mother to her daughter Monica's children; Malachi, Jacqueline, Margaret, Jennifer and James; sadly missed by all her brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, her son-in-law and daughters-in-law, her nieces and nephews, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her great-great-grandchildren, extended family, friends and kind neighbours. Mona was a great woman who was admired and respected by all who knew her. A strong, independent woman, she was always ready to help. Mona was active in her community, was a co-founder of the East Wall Credit Union in which she remained actively involved until the age of 94. Grateful thanks to the sisters and staff of Nazareth House for their loving and excellent care. Mona will be reposing at Nazareth House from 12 noon until 6 o'c on today (Monday, February 7), her removal will take place from Nazareth House at 9 o'c tomorrow (Tuesday, February 8) to St. Joseph's Church, East Wall for 10 o'c Mass, thence to Balgriffin Cemetery, Malahide Road for interment.
