BRANNIGAN Nial Joseph - aged 70, a resident of Ascot, Berks, died of throat cancer on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at the Thames Hospice, Windsor. Born January 30, 1940 in Athlone, Co Westmeath, to the late Lieutenant Colonel Joe and Nellie Brannigan. A 1962 economics graduate of University College Dublin, he was a one-time employee of IBM in New York State, Investors Overseas Service in Geneva, Levi Strauss in both Brussels and Croydon, a number of small computer software leasing firms, and for the past twenty years was self-employed in that industry. A passionate golfer, reader, hiker, and follower of Fulham Football Club, film, classical music, and jazz. He is survived by his wife, Kris (née Leech); his children, Niall of Virginia, USA, Nicole Moore of Virginia, Stephen of Ascot, and Helen of Ascot; his sister, Sheila Price, of Linton, Cambridge; grandchildren, Mariah Klug, Lauren Snyder, William Snyder, and Patience Moore, all of Virginia, and; great grandson, Aiden Klug, also of Virginia. Funeral service to take place at Easthampstead Park Crematorium at 3.00pm on October 15, 2010 followed by a reception at the Wentworth Golf Club, Virginia Water. No flowers please but donations if desired to Thames Hospice Care or Cancer Research c/o Lines Bannister Funeral Directors, 69, High Street, Ascot, Berkshire SL5 7HP.
