MELODY (Peggie) (née Grimes) ("Robin Hill", Church Road, Ballina, Co. Mayo) (Died December 15, 2005) - Relict of the late Tony and formerly proprietor and Matron of the Sancta Maria Nursing Home, Ballina. On the first anniversary of Peggie's death, her family P.J., Anthony, Declan, Gráinne (O'Donnellan) and Joe, daughters- in-law Dorothy, Kate and Fiona, son-in-law Rory and her grandchildren Gavin, Laura, Robert, Niamh, Caoimhe, Seona, Ruairí, Aoife, Paula and Ciara wish to express their sincere thanks to the large number of people who sympathised with them. We would also like to thank those who called to her home and attended her funeral, those who sent Mass Cards, sympathy cards and floral tributes and those relatives and friends who travelled long distances to be with us. Our gratitude to Fr Seán Melody P.P., Waterford for officiating at her funeral on both days; to Fr Gallagher, Fr Harrison, Fr Rosbotham and Fr Fox for their assistance at the funeral Mass and to Sharon Molloy-Arís for her beautiful singing. Peggie would have been proud. A word of gratitude to her brother Liam and his wife Carmel (Grimes) and family, Marie Molloy, Rita Ruddy, Micheál Kilcullen, Teresa Robinson and Harriet West for sitting with us, and to all the friends who visited Peggie during her last, peaceful days; to Mattie Marren (sister), Tullamore and her family, and to Nan and Marana Grimes, Enniscrone for their help and support. Many thanks to the management and staff of the Mot Ridge Nursing Home, Ballina, for their kindness and the excellent care they extended to Peggie; to the nurses and staff of the District Hospital, Ballina for their kindness during her short sojourn there. Thank you to Mr Ronan Waldron, Mayo General Hospital, Castlebar, Dr Donal Murray and Mr Brendan Healy, Sligo General Hospital, and Dr Declan Sugrue, Mater Private Hospital for their medical help and expertise in her latter years. Thank you also to Mr Enda Hiney, Funeral Director, Crossmolina for his sensitive handling of the funeral arrangements. And finally, Peggie, you were a great Mum, a great nurse, businesswoman and friend, and we miss you! Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis. Anniversary Mass tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 o'clock in St Muredack's Cathedral, Ballina.
