MORIARTY (The Reverend Fr Sean, P.P., Ret'd.) - Myra, Michael and Colm, sister and brothers of the late Fr Sean, (died March 16, 2005), wish to thank most sincerely the many relatives, neighbours and friends who sympathised with them on their recent sad loss. The huge volume of Mass Cards, letters of condolences, phone calls and floral tributes were very much appreciated and are hereby acknowledged. They wish to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff of Tullamore Hospital, where he had many sojourns in recent times. A special and heartfelt thanks goes in particular to Health Nurse Betty O'Dwyer of Moneygall, who took such good care of him for so many years. Thanks also is due to Bishop Willie Walsh and the many priests of the Diocese of Killaloe who came to celebrate the Solemn Mass with Fr Michael O'Meara, P.P., Kinnitty, Co. Offaly, Sean's successor. Sincere appreciation also goes to the members of the Parish Council and the parishioners, who worked so hard in making the arrangements for the funeral. They wish to acknowledge also the sympathies of his many friends in the Legion of Mary, the organisation to which he devoted so much of his energies throughout his priestly life, despite his declining health. They wish to thank the many good people of his former parishes, Roscrea, Clarecastle, Moneygall and Feakle, who made the long journey for the funeral Mass and burial in the grounds of St Flannan's Church, Kinnitty. The genuine warmth and a sense of shared loss evident in all those encountered during those sad days was of great consolation to the extended family, something that they will truly remember and appreciate for a very long time. Masses will be arranged for all their special intentions.
