Mayo), died December 16, 2005) - On the first anniversary of Dr John's death, his wife Dr Angela and children Fr John, Angela, Enda, Noel, Emer and Donal wish to express their appreciation to all those who sympathised with them and helped them through this difficult and sad time. The expressions of condolences, words of comfort and acts of kindness will forever be remembered. To all those who attended the removal, the funeral Mass, to those who sent Mass Cards, messages and letters of sympathy and support and those who made donations to Knock Shrine, we extend a heartfelt thanks. A special thanks to our extended family, friends, neighbours and Dr John's medical colleagues for their support. We extend our deepest appreciation to his good friend Canon Mark Diamond for celebrating the funeral Mass, his kind words and spiritual support to Dr John; to Bishops Fleming and Finnegan, to the priests of the parish and other clergy for their presence. Thanks to the soloist Ms Debbie McCole, organist Canon Patrick Gallagher and the Rathduff Church Choir for the meaningful hymns and also to the sacristan. Our gratitude also to An Garda Síochána, Crossmolina GAA, local schools, work colleagues of family members and the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association. We especially wish to thank McGowan Funeral Directors for their sensitivity and professionalism. A special word of thanks: to the doctors, nurses and healthcare support staff of Galvia Private Hospital, Galway and Ballina District Hospital for their compassionate caring.
