Genius - Gentleman a jewel of man that is indeed rare to come across on lifes journey

l want to estend my sincere sympathy to all the family on the loss of Gerald. His voice has been a feature in my life all throughout the decades and will be sorely missed no-one will ever be able to replace him in my books no one. he always was like a old chair that one sits in for comfort - always there and always soothing. he reminds me of when a teenager coing back from school to a home that had no money and not much love left either between my parents and hearing the radop going and thus making me revigorated and going back to school

Also going to the other side of the country from donega to where l was reared to visit my father seperated back in his own turf again in limerick - his home was like green acres that programme on the tv away back then and again my father still having the radio on would come blasting out the vice of dear Gerald at midday . WE would always be drinking tea around then making with a slice of sponge cake and one was never alone. MY father is gone now and so too is Gerald the two men in my life that lit the torch for the world of journalsim for me which is a big a Passion for me now as it were for dear gerald. oNE NOTABLE FEATURE ABOUT HIM ALWAYS WAS HIS CHARM - HE COULD DELIVER THE PUNCHES IN TOUGH INTERVIEWS BUT IN SUCH A WAY AS IF THE PERSON WHO WAS BEING INTERVIEWED BY HIM WAS LIKE ME THE LISTENNER THEN AND ALWAYS HAVING A CUP OF TEA AND MY SPONGE CAKE. gOD REST HIS SOUL AND L GIVE HIM MY BERY BEST WISHES AS IN LIFE

LOVE SHEILA LEAHY
