RUDDOCK (Doreen) (First Anniversary) - On the first anniversary of Doreen's death, John, Gillian, Alan and their families recall with joy and pleasure tinged with sadness the life of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother. We remember her selfless care for the boarders in Villiers School, Limerick and her devotion to the hundreds of musicians who enriched our lives for so many years. We were grateful to receive so many uplifting letters, cards, Mass Cards and e-mails. Every single one is treasured. Doreen's final weeks were made more comfortable by the regular visits of the nurses from the Blackrock Hospice, the Dalkey Public Health Authority and the Irish Cancer Society. To all who so lovingly cared for Doreen we send our warmest thanks. Nor must we forget Professor Armstrong and his dedicated team at St Vincent's Hospital and we also thank Doreen's doctor, Dr Deirdre O'Gorman. Rev. Ben Neill's pastoral care was invaluable. We thank Bishop Walton Empey who, with Rev. Gary Dowd and John's brother Ken, conducted such a heartrending Service of Celebration in St Patrick's Church in Dalkey. We are indebted to the organist, Frank Hughes for his inspiring contribution and especially for his playing of one of Doreen's favourite pieces, Elgar's "Nimrod". Finally, we will forever be grateful to all the friends who helped us enormously in our hour of need."I heard the voice of Jesus say,
Come unto me and rest"
