HOGAN - Brigadier General P.D. Hogan's wife Valerie, formerly Jelley, would like to thank those who sympathised with her and the families on the occasion of her husband's death. In particular, we would like to thank the Chief of Staff of the Irish Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Sreenan and the General Staff, and also the General Officer Commanding the Eastern Brigade, Brigadier General Gerard McNamara for their attendance at the funeral, also Commandant Billy Campbell who co-ordinated the removal Service and the Requiem Mass at Cathal Brugha Barrack Chapel. We also thank the Head Chaplain of the Defence Forces, Fr John Crowley, for saying the Mass, and Margaret Campbell (née Coyle) for the music that accompanied it, fulfilling a long-standing arrangement between Pat and herself. We wish to thank the Military Police Guard of Honour and also Scouting Ireland for their Guard of Honour. We thank also UNFICYP and the Cyprus National Guard for being represented at the removal, Mass and funeral in Paphos, Cyprus. Our thanks also to Mr George of Archangel, Limassol and Alan at Fanagan Funeral Directors who ensured that all arrangements went smoothly and with great dignity. We remember with thanks all our neighbours and friends for their immense kindness and support, many of whom travelled long distances to be present for his removal and Requiem Mass and also to so many who gave generously to the Irish Heart Foundation. There will be an Anniversary Mass for Brigadier General Hogan at Booterstown Church of the Assumption, Booterstown Avenue this evening, March 12 at 6 o'clock
