McCANNEY (Michael George) - The wife and family of Michael George McCanney, R.I.P., who died suddenly at his home in Swords on May 29, 2006, wish to express their sincere thanks to all who helped them in their time of bereavment. Thanks to Swords Ambulance Service and Fire Brigade who performed their duties with great respect. Thanks to Rock's Funeral Home, Swords, who carried him from Beaumont Hospital to his home in Swords, and to his final resting place in Langfield Graveyard, Drumquin. An extended thanks to all those who travelled long distances to attend the wake and everyone who helped out during that time. Thanks to Rev. Brian O'Kane, Rev. Damien Farnon, Rev. Cyril Mangan and esteemed colleagues, as well as the Altar servers for providing him with a beautiful funeral Mass. Thanks to those nephews and nieces, as well as partners of Michael's children, who participated in the readings and offertory. Thanks to Mr Garrett Sholdice who played the organ with skill, and Michelle O'Rourke who sang beautifully. Also, thanks to all our friends and neighbours in Swords who attended the funeral Mass and all those who sent Mass Cards. Thanks to all the family and friends who were part of the funeral cortege that brought Michael to his final resting place. Thanks to all those friends and neighbours who lined the winding road from Aughnacloy to Michael's home in Drumquin and on to Langfield Graveyard. Thanks to Rev. Kevin Mullin and the hospitable people of Drumquin who welcomed Michael home. Thanks to Michael Gallagher who played the fiddle, Catherine O'Loughlin who sang, and Linda Duffy who read an excerpt from "The Lament for Art O'Leary" at the burial. Thanks to Tony Brogan who read the prayers and to Steve McKenna who read a eulogy to Michael. Thanks to the gravediggers Justin and Conor Barrett who were assisted by their father Vindy, and appreciation to all for the beautiful floral tributes which adorned the grave. Thanks to The Silverbirches Hotel who provided a most excellent meal. As it is impossible to thank each one of you personally for your support at this time, we hope this acknowledgement of our heartfelt gratitude will be accepted. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for all your intentions. Month's Mind Mass will be at the family home in Castle Avenue, Swords, Co. Dublin on Sunday afternoon, July 16 at 2.30 o'clock
