O BUACHALLA (Donal) (Dublin and Ballyvourney, Co. Cork) (Died September 7, 2005) - His wife Julia, sons Liam and Don and daughters Sheelagh (Minihane) and Aoife (Carroll) wish to thank all who offered us comfort and support on the loss of our beloved Donal. Thank you to all who came to the house to share their memories and offer their condolences, especially those who had travelled distances. We were privileged in that Donal was at home so much during his final illness. He accepted it without annoyance or objection: an exemplary patient. The Service of Nurse on Call, Caring for the Elderly at Home and Accessible Community Transport Systems helped us to do this, along with Dr Mary Deane and her team in The Royal Hospital Donnybrook with their help and in giving us the security of knowing they were always available in emergency. We are very thankful that Donal showed us how to live life and how to accept adversity. He often said he had been blessed and had had a wonderful life and requested that his Requiem Mass be one of thanksgiving. Thank you to Enda Waters C.S.Sp. (Chaplain, The Royal Hospital) who celebrated his funeral Mass and who echoed these sentiments. We are grateful to so many priest friends for coming together to concelebrate: to John Guiney S.J., Brian Kilbride C.S.Sp., Martin Nolan O.S.A., Patrick Carbery S.J., Patrick Lucey O.P., Thomas Cooney O.S.A. Charles Davy S.J., Noel Barber S.J., Patrick Palmer C.S.Sp. Thanks also to our parish clergy, Patrick Carroll P.P. and Declan Gallagher C.C. for all their help. Donal had many friends in the Religious life, in particular in the Dominican Sisters, the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity, the Carmelite Sisters and the Sisters of Marie Reparatrice and the Teresians: our gratitude to them all. There are a few who wrote whom we were unable to answer, lacking an address or name and ask them to accept this acknowledgement in grateful appreciation. We wish also to thank Bishop Raymond Boland, Kansas for celebrating Donal's Month's Mind Mass, concelebrants Denis Ryan P.P. and John Guiney S.J. and James Fitzgerald S.J. and Frank O'Shaughnessy O.S.A. who were also present. Our thanks also to Peter O'Brien for singing and organising the music at both Masses. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for the intentions of those people and for all Donal's friends. God bless you all.
