Fond farewell to Mrs. Mulvey

Dear Christine, Michael and Therese,

So sorry I wasn't able to make it to the funeral.

I have very fond memories of your mother, always kind and welcoming to me when we played in the back garden. She, like my mother, Mrs Murphy, came from a generation who were discrete and unshowy, qualities we could do witha bit more of in these times of conspicuous consumption.

Hope you are all well,

Mairin Murphy
