I met and had great fun with Gay and his brother Turlough when invited by their mother to visit them at home in Celbridge during the 1960s. I learned to drive their old car in a field near the family home and went rowing on the Liffey. I remember both of them as utterly friendly lads. The connection was their mother with my grandmother Mary Murphy in nearby Maynooth.
