BURKE (née Liffey) (Hillside, Birr, formerly Pharmacist, Eyrecourt, Ballinasloe) - August 28, 2010, (peacefully) at home. Marie, pre-deceased by her husband Tom and son John; very deeply regretted by her sons, daughters, sister Sheelagh, grand -children, sons-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives and friends. R.I.P. Requiem Mass in Eyrecourt Church today (Monday) at 11 o'clock Burial afterwards in Meelick Cemetery. Family flowers only. Enquiries to Burns Funeral Directors. 090 9675110.
BURKE (née Liffey) Marie; Hillside, Birr (formerly of Eyrecourt) who passed away on August 28, 2010 - The family of Marie wish to express sincere thanks to all relatives, friends ,work colleagues, bridge club friends and neighbours for the many kind expressions of sympathy received after her passing. We deeply appreciate and thank all those who called to the house, attended the funeral, sent letters, Mass cards and sympathy cards. A special thanks to Doctors, Denise, John and Daragh O' Hare (Birr), the staff of the Oncology Department of Tullamore hospital, the Public Health and Hospice Care Nurses who cared so well for Marie. To Fr. Mick Reddan (Birr) for the frequent visits and great comfort he gave to Marie and all of us. To the wonderful people of Eyrecourt and latterly, Birr, whose support and friendship was so constant through all the years and especially at the passing of our father, Tom (1987) and brother, John (1997). Thanks, also, to Kevin Burns (Eyrecourt), Funeral Director, for his professionalism and dignity and to the priests and choir who made the Mass so meaningful. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this Acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation for the love, kindness and support that has been shown to us. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
