HUGHES (Michael) ("Silvermere", Stradbally Road, Portlaoise, and late of Hughes Pharmacy, Portlaoise) (died September 12, 2006) - Carmel, Kieran, Michelle, Deirdre and Niall wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with us on the recent sad and unexpected death of our beloved Michael - husband and Dad. We remember with love his sisters Polly, Nancy and Josie and his adored grandchildren. Our heartfelt gratitude to Fr Seán Kelly, Dr Ray O'Sullivan, "Dad's Army" the Heath and the members of his fourball who tried so hard to help him in his final moments. A special word of thanks to the doctors, nurses and Ambulance staff at the A&E Department, Portlaoise General Hospital, and the local priests who came to support and console us on that tragic day. We very much appreciated all those who sent Mass Cards, perpetual enrolments, memorial Masses, letters of sympathy, text or phone messages, donations to the 'Heart Foundation Fund', floral tributes and those who simply thought of us at this time. A warm thank you to all who came to our home, attended the removal from the house, funeral Mass, burial and those who travelled long distances to share in our grief. A special word of thanks to Fr Brendan Nolan C.C., Sr Oliver and all in Rosslare. We are very grateful to Fr Joe O'Neill C.C., Portlaoise, Fr Tom Byrne C.C., Emo, Fr Liam Merrigan P.P., Monasterevan, Fr Seán Kelly, Stradbally and Fr Conor Harper, Clongowes who concelebrated the funeral Mass; Mr Brendan McNamara and his choir and the Altar servers who made themselves available on both days. A special 'thank you' to Henry and Kay Rankin's Funeral Undertakers who conducted the arrangements so sensitively and professionally, and to the gravediggers for their care. Our heartfelt gratitude to our extended family, our wonderful neighbours and friends who helped in so many ways; Michael's pharmacy colleagues, his staff, his golfing companions from far and near and his many, many friends and customers who came to support and comfort us throughout those sad days, and for sharing the memories, tears and prayers with us during our three-day vigil and ever since. To all who took over our kitchen and looked after everyone, Jimmy's Country Kitchen, and the staff at The Heritage, Killenard a warm 'thank you'. We thank the Gardaí for their respectful demeanour and professional management of the traffic. We miss Dad very much and know that all who knew him will miss him too. As it would be impossible to write to everyone individually you are in our thoughts and prayers. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions as a token of our heartfelt appreciation. Michael's Month's Mind Mass will take place in SS. Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaoise on Friday evening, October 13, 2006 at 7.30 o'clockockAr dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
