ENGLISH Des (Blackrock, Co. Dublin who died October 17, 2008) - His wife Blanche, children Karen, Judi, David and Fiona, grandchildren Sam, Josh, Simon and Mia and brother Gerry wish to thank most sincerely all those who supported and sympathised with them on Des' death. We thank all our close and extended family for their support and love and we thank neighbours and friends for their care and attention. We would like to thank friends and members in Fitzwilliam LTC and Fitzamblers Walking Club and also to the staff of the club for hosting the function after the funeral. We are also very grateful to the priests who officiated at the funeral Mass in particular Fr. Martin Daly and Fr. Gerry Byrne for their support in the hospital as well and Fr. Gerry for his continued support. Thank you to Cindy and Sarah for the beautiful singing at the funeral and for helping with choosing the prayers and readings. We also wish to express our appreciation to Burke's Funeral Directors for their exceptional attention and help. In particular we wish to extend our gratitude to the staff of the Nightingale Unit in the Blackrock Clinic for their incredible care of Des. We also wish to mention and thank Mechelle, who was there from the first day to the very last moment and especially thank Dr. David Fennelly for his care, professionalism and optimism. Thank you to GPs Stephen Murphy and Michele Rice. To those who travelled long distances and wrote letters and everyone who came to the hospital, wake and funeral. To everyone who brought food, cards, flowers and support, thank you. As it would be impossible to write to everyone individually, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our deep and heartfelt appreciation.
