McGONIGLE (John) (Johnny) (late of Wolfe Tone Tce., Athlone), who died on October 18th, 2006. On this the First Anniversary of John's death, his wife Nora, children Frances, John, Sarah, Stephen, Conor, Anthony, Lisa and Simon along with grandchildren, siblings and extended family, would like to wholeheartedly thank his friends and colleagues, both present and retired in The Irish Times, who joined in mourning John's passing and who offered their comfort, kindness and generosity during this difficult year. The family are immensely grateful for the medical treatment and moral support Johnny received from Dr. Patrick O'Meara and Nurse Ann Dwan, Athlone. Dr. John Barton and staff of Portiuncula Hospital, Ballinasloe. Dr. John Donohoe and the wonderful nurses in the Renal Unit, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin over the past three years and the gentle care given to him in the Hamilton Ward just before his passing was conducted with great dignity, thanks to the nurses and staff. Also to Fr. Owen and Fr. Brian. Grateful thanks to the professional and caring service provided by Flynn's Funeral Directors. We are indebted to the Franciscan Friars, Athlone, Sr. Anne, soloist Margaret Kilduff and the Choir, altar servers, our Parish Priest Fr. Liam Murray and all the priests who presided over the very moving funeral Mass. Also to our kind neighbours and friends. We wish to gratefully acknowledge all who attended the removal and Mass and those who corresponded in sympathy with our family since Johnny's death. Those who sent Mass cards and flowers and all who have been there for us over the past year. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for all your intentions.May He Rest in Peace.
