BUTLER (Billy) (Ballyeighan, Birr, Co. Offaly) - As we approach the first anniversary of Billy's death (on November 3, 2005), Billy's wife Gemma, sons Liam and Lorcan, brother David, sisters Eleanor, Dympna, Margaret and Martina, daughters-in-law Mary and Sharon and extended family wish to acknowledge and thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them and helped them through the difficult and sad period of Billy's illness and death. The expressions of condolence, words of comfort and acts of kindness will be forever remembered and appreciated. To all those who sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, floral tributes and made generous donations to Offaly Hospice, those who called to the house and attended the funeral Mass, we extend a warm thank you. To Denise, Fiona, Loyola, Enda and George for the great deeds and the small jobs, their gentleness, support and strenght during Billy's last days. To good friends, kind neighbours and customers for all the continued prayers, support and good wishes. Thank you all. Words cannot express our gratefulness for the medical support given warmly to Billy by Doctors John, Denise and Darragh O'Hare, not only Billy's doctors but great friends; Mr John McCaffrey and team, Oncology Unit, Mater Private Hospital, Mary Murray and her Hospice support team; Sadie, Angela and their team of nurses, physios and specialists staff, carers and home help from Birr Nursing Unit and Bernie who brought light to many a sad day. A special thank you to Fr Tony Cahir and who always called at the right time and officiated at Billy's Funeral Mass and burial. Thank you also to Fr Kieran Blake for his kindness, to Birr Church Choir, soloists Deirdre and Emma, organist Alan Roe for making the funeral Mass special and Donal Boyd, Undertaker, for his professionalism. Billy's leaving of life told much about how it was lived. He left, not easily, but with acceptance, with courage and serenity, with a will to live until he could live no longer. We loved him dearly and like so many who cope with sadness and grief, find each day a struggle and empty without him. May he rest in peace. Billy's First Anniversary Mass will be at 12 Noon on Sunday, November 5, 2006, and he will be remembered at Mass in Kilcolman at 11 o'clock on Sunday, November 12, 2006.
