O'HARA (J.J) (Foxford, Co. Mayo) (Died August 13, 2008) - As we approach our first Christmas without our beloved J.J, his wife Bernie, children Louise, John, Mark, and Lisa together with his mother, brothers and sisters wish to thank all those who sympathised with us on the death of our much beloved husband, father, son and brother. Our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful people who queued for such a long time to offer their condolences to us at the funeral home and at his funeral Mass the following day. We acknowledge with sincere thanks the Mass cards, perpetual enrolments, floral tributes, letters and donations to Hope House, Foxford. We would like to thank Peter, Catherine and Tommy for accompanying J.J. on his final journey home to Foxford and to the Airport Police and An Garda Siochana for the escort at Dublin. A special word of thanks to the Mayo Mens Association in both Dublin and Galway for their presence and support to the family at the time of the funeral and since then. Thank you to Toby for your gesture of kindness which we are sure J.J. would have loved. Our eternal gratitude to the acting Argentine Ambassador Anna Pisano for paying her personal respects to the Argentine community in Ireland for their presence at the funeral and to the numerous people from Argentina who contacted us to offer their sympathy and tell us how much J.J. meant to them. Our sincere thanks to Commodore Frank Lynch, Commander Mark Mellett and the members of the Irish Naval Service who formed a guard of honour together with the guards of honour formed by the pupils of our local national and secondary schools, the staff of Hope House, the local soccer and G.A.A clubs and J.J's loyal staff. Thank you for the many tributes paid to J.J by the local and national media and to the many counsel officials and politicians who attended in both a professional and personal capacity. Our sincere thanks to Fr. Joe and the other priests for celebrating J.J's Mass and to Peter for his beautiful and moving eulogy. We thank Fr. Chris and Fr. Joe for their continuing support to the family. Thank you to the members of An Garda Siochana for their presence in Foxford on both days of the funeral. Finally, a special word of thanks to Michael Clarke for his compassion and understanding in taking care of the funeral arrangements. As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation. Mass will be offered for the intentions of all. The O'Hara families will not be sending Christmas cards this year but will in lieu be making a donation in J.J's name to Hope House, Foxford.
