A Wonderful Person

I taught with Sr. Gerard at St. Rosalie School in Harvey, and both of my sons had her as their first grade teacher. She was an amazing Montessori teacher and made learning such fun. Her favorite expression for her students was "pet". It made them feel so special. I can still remember her students reciting the states and capitals. How incredible for first graders! I still have vivid memories of her and Sr. Jeanne performing the "Irish Jig" for all the students at our St. Patrick's Day celebrations. We missed her so much when she left our school. I was so glad she was able to see her beloved New Orleans Saints win the Super Bowl. She loved her "Saints"! God rest her soul!

Pauline Colomb

Sr. Gerard - One of a kind

Sr Gerard had a special place in all our family's hearts. She was my first teacher. She was also the first teacher for all of my six siblings.

She had such joy about her;she loved to tell about the funny things children would say in her class. She was a special person and will be missed.

Sheila Geary (Stacey)
