KILLEEN John C. (Glasnevin, Dublin and Goleen, West Cork) - As we approach the first anniversary of our beloved Charlie's death on March 24, 2007, Pauline, John, Eileen, Kevin, David and Catherine wish to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who helped us care for Charlie during his illness. We would especially like to thank all the homecare and palliative care nurses in Dublin and Goleen and the nurses of St. Francis Hospice. We deeply appreciate the warm and dedicated manner of the care provided throughout his illness. It is difficult to single out people but we could not have managed without the wonderful pastoral care provided by Fr. John O'Donovan P.P., the exceptional medical care of Dr. Brian O'Connell and his locum Deirdre and the loving support of Liz and Richie Barry, all of Goleen. We together with Charlie's sister and brothers would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Nessa Mc Donagh, his G.P. and all the wonderful doctors of the Mater Hospital, Dr. O'Dwyer, Dr. O'Connell, Dr. Mc Entee and Dr. John Mc Caffrey and the wonderful staff of his oncology Department. A special thanks to Dr. Sean O' Loughlin and Molly his ever caring secretary. We very much appreciate the comfort and support of all our neighbours, work colleagues, friends and members of the Ballymun Ladies Club who attended his reposal in both Dublin and Goleen and all who attended the funeral and cremation, especially those who travelled long distances to be with us. A special thanks to Fr. John Delaney P.P. (OLV) and Fr. Gerard Norton Op., who concelebrated Charlie's funeral Mass with such reverence and dignity and made the occasion so memorable. We wish to acknowledge the numerous Mass Cards, letters of sympathy, donations to Cancer research, phone calls and visits since Charlie's death. To our family members, friends and neighbours in Dublin and Goleen who have been so supportive and attentive since Charlie's death, our heartfelt thanks. And finally to the Funeral Directors in Dublin and Goleen, our thanks for managing the funeral arrangements so efficiently yet so sensitively. Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass has been offered for your intentions."He will be with us forever"
