GALLAGHER - Cormac, Psychoanalyst, (Cork, Dublin), October 1st, 2026, in the wonderful care of Newtownpark Nursing Home, Blackrock. Predeceased by his parents, his sister Grace and brother George
Deeply mourned by his beloved wife and best friend, Jean (Kilcullen). Deeply missed by his sister, Ber and brothers-in-law Vin Freeman, Peter Moriarty, Paul, sisters-in-law Carmel and RoisÃn, nieces and nephews. Deeply respected by all who have been able to engage with his work and continue to benefit from it in a life-defining way: for his courageous, epoch-marking introduction of Lacanian psychoanalysis into Ireland, his clinical practice, his teaching and his internationally esteemed translations of Jacques Lacan and other crucial pioneers in the Lacanian field.
In repose in Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Blackrock, 2 - 4 pm Sunday 4th October. Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, 5th October, at 11.00 am at the Church of the Sacred Heart, Donnybrook (D04 HW82) followed by burial at Shanganagh Cemetery (A98 Y952).
