O'NEILL - Sean (Carlow, formerly Kill Abbey, Blackrock, Co. Dublin). Sean passed away (reluctantly, as he would say) on September 27, 2026, one week after his 100th birthday, in the compassionate care of the staff in Hillview Nursing Home and in the company of his family. Predeceased by his beloved wife Brede, his brothers and sisters and his sons-in-law Declan and Stephen. Sean’s fun, kind, humorous and erudite presence will be much missed by his daughters Maeve, Eileen, Áine, Antoinette and Marian, his sons-in-law Shane, Frank and Sean, his grandchildren Alice, Phoebe, Emer-Emily, Stephen, Tadg, Louis, Barry and Ellen, his great-grandchildren Kai, Richie, Aoife and Cora, his extended family, neighbours and friends. R.I.P Reposing in R. Healy and Son Funeral Home Pollerton Castle, Carlow R93 H308 tomorrow Wednesday (September 30) from 4 o'clock to 7 o'clock. Funeral Mass taking place in the Cathedral of the Assumption, Carlow at 10 o'clock on Thursday morning, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations, if desired, in lieu of flowers to St. Vincent de Paul.
