SHANAHAN - Kate, peacefully, at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, Dublin, surrounded by her loving family. Kate was a much-respected journalist, working over the years with the Irish Press, RTÉ and Hot Press, and later as an academic at TU Dublin. Predeceased by her beloved parents Tommy and Bridie Shanahan, also by her brothers Patrick and Thomas. Kate will be dearly missed by her beloved husband Johnjoe, adored son Luke and loving brother Jerry. Deeply regretted by her sister-in-law Aisling, niece Sadbh, nephews Aonghus and Liam, sister-in-law Anne and her husband Richard, nieces and nephews Liesse, Richard, John, Philippa, Siobhan and James, extended family, former colleagues, many, many friends and neighbours. Reposing at Corrigan & Sons Funeral Home, Lower Camden Street (D02 DF22) on Friday, 4th September, from 4.30pm until 6.30pm.

Funeral Mass will take place in the Church of the Three Patrons, Rathgar, on Saturday, 5th September, at 10am, and afterwards to Mount Jerome Crematorium for 11.30am.
