PLUNKETT - David (Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin) – 18th August 2026 peacefully after a long illness borne with remarkable courage and dignity in the wonderful care of Blackrock Hospice, surrounded by his heartbroken family. Deeply loved by his wife Karen and his adoring and devoted sons Darragh and Murray. David will be sadly missed by his brother Fergus, and sister Aideen (Cullen), predeceased by his parents Katherine and Edgar, and brother Paul. Fondly remembered and much loved by his brothers-in-law Chris and Tom and sisters-in-law Mary, Maureen and Nuala, nephews, nieces and extended family. David will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wonderful friends, neighbours and extended family who were a huge support, throughout his illness. The family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to Prof Grogan and Oncology Team in Beaumont Hospital, Dr Fergus Mason and all staff in Johnstown Medical Centre and his home carer Valerie. Our deepest gratitude to each and every one in Blackrock Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion shown to David over the past number of weeks. A private funeral has taken place at David’s request.
