ALLEN - John (Lisroyan, Strokestown, Co. Roscommon). July 22, 2026. Peacefully surrounded by his loving wife and children in Harold's Cross Hospice, Dublin, after an illness fought with great courage and dignity. Beloved husband and best friend of Ann, much loved father of Elizabeth, Michael, Deirdre, Catherine and Sinead and adored Papa of Meadbh, Naoise, Caoimhe, Noah, Isobel, Senan, Lar and Banba. John will be sadly missed by his sorrowing wife, children, grand children, daughter-in-law Fernanda, sons-in-law Cathal, Ryan and Alan, brother Michael, sisters Veronica, Patricia, Maire and Dorothy, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, relatives, neighbours and many friends. John is predeceased by his parents Michael and Mollie, brothers James and Anthony and his sisters Grainne and Finola. Reposing at McHugh's Funeral Home, Strokestown, today (Friday) (July 24th) from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass tomorrow (Saturday) (July 25th) in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strokes town, at 2pm. Burial afterwards in Strokestown Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in lieu of can be made to the St. James's Hospital Foundation.
