STONE, Brian

STONE - Brian, (Knocklyon, Dublin, formerly of Mount Merrion), 18th July 2026, peacefully after a short illness, bravely borne at St. Vincent's University Hospital. He is deeply missed by his beloved wife Fionnuala Mulcahy. Predeceased by his sisters Barbara (O’Flanagan) and Miriam, and his brother David. He will also be sadly missed by his brother Philip, brothers-in-law Eddie, Kerry and Owen, sister-in-law Aideen, nephews Kevin and his wife Imene, Ronan and his wife Janet, nieces Roisin and Ciara and her partner Daniel, grand nephews Niall and Ruairi, his extended family, friends and neighbours. He will be greatly missed by his close friends Paul and Mary (Mullaney), Andrew and Danielle, Laura and Greg, Simon and Megan and all their children. He is fondly remembered by fellow uilleann pipers, and by many in the DCU sub aqua club, which he founded, as well as the Dalkey and Curragh sub aqua clubs and the wider diving and underwater photography community; his former colleagues and students in DCU where he was professor in computer applications.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the ICU, St. Vincent's Hospital for their kind care and treatment of Brian. Brian will repose in Fanagans Funeral Home, Willbrook Road, Rathfarnham from 5.00pm to 7.00 pm on Thursday (July 23rd). A Funeral Service to celebrate Brian’s life will take place in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome, Harold’s Cross on Friday morning (July 24th) at 10.00 am which may be viewed on the following link https:// www.mountjerome.ie/victorian-chapel-service/
