SIMPSON Maureen (née Lloyd) died peacefully on Sunday 3, May 2020, aged ninety years. She worked at the NI Sports Council and had a lifelong association with Irish swimming as a competitor, coach and official. She was a member of the Irish Team at the Munich Olympics in 1972 and served as the first female President of the IASA in 1979. Wife to Hugo (deceased), mother of Shelley, Karen and Conrad, as well as a beloved grandmother, great grandmother and mother-in-law. She lives on in our hearts and we miss her deeply. Due to the lock-down restrictions, a small private family service will be held. A celebration of Maureen's life will be arranged for a later date post lock-down. Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the Alzheimer's Society. Fundraising Team, Alzheimer's Society, Scott Lodge, Scott Road, Plymouth, PL2 3DU.
