BAXTER - James (July 2, 2020) (Longford) – On James’ First Anniversary, we, his family - Helen, Carol and Turlough - would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all who sympathised with us in so many different ways at the time of his passing. A special thank you to relatives, friends and neighbours who attended James’ funeral or burial, supported us during those difficult days, stood outside our house, prepared food or who made guards of honour and lined the route to St. Mel’s Cathedral. We thank all of those who offered condolences virtually, joined in the live streaming of his funeral Mass, expressed their appreciation of James’ life on RIP.ie, sent cards or letters or who phoned us. We very much appreciate all of the kindness shown to us over the past year. Our special thanks to the HSE palliative and public health teams in Longford, to the Irish Cancer Society’s night nurses and to James Quinn who provided such kind care to James during his final weeks. We would like also to thank Fr. James McKiernan who celebrated James's funeral Mass and Fr. Michael McGrath, Fr. Tony Gilhooly, Fr. Reji Kurian and Fr. Joseph Ukut for their participation in the funeral rites. Our thanks too to Derek Mahedy for the beautiful music, to Martin Glennon of Glennon's Funeral Directors for managing the funeral arrangements so sensitively and to the Gardaí at Longford station for providing a guard of honour. Please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
