MURPHY - Dennis (Oughterard, Co. Galway and Booterstown, Co. Dublin). on the first anniversary of Dennis’ death, May 9, 2020, his son, Conor, and sister, Ger, sincerely thank all those who supported us during Den’s long illness. Your calls, cards, Mass cards, emails and text messages were greatly appreciated. To the staff of Saint Andrew’s Ward, Saint Vincent’s Hospital where Den spent eight months of his life, cared for by the staff as if he were a member of their own families, an enormous note of gratitude. His friends from Dublin and Galway, retired colleagues from GMIT, including Laura and the GMIT class of ’91 all of whom kept in contact with him throughout his difficult illness, our deepest thanks. It would be an insurmountable task to thank everyone individually who extended their respects, kindness and condolences to the family, please accept this acknowledgement of our profound gratitude. To neighbours and friends who met us on Booterstown Avenue as we headed westward, the guard of honour outside GMIT and the Galway Motor Club at Bushy Park, members of Oughterard Rugby Club and his neighbours from Glann Road a very special thanks. A heartfelt note of appreciation to Father Des Forde who supported us all , arranged the funeral service and gave Den such a send off. This allowed us to say goodbye to a special person whose love of life continues to live on in our hearts, and to Aidan Walsh, Funeral Director, thank you for your support and professionalism. To Doctor Eoin and Geraldine Bresnihan who opened their hearts and home to Ger during those challenging times - your practical and emotional support was invaluable, your kindness shown will never be forgotten. We are looking forward to a post Covid future where the family and friends will be able to celebrate Den’s life
