What a fine person

I knew Jan from the Black Church Print Studio. He made an impression on me as a warm, open, enthusiastic and very cultured person, a lovely mixture of traits and not that common. I am very sad to hear of his passing. Living in Wales I only heard of it now. He was one of those lovely encouraging souls. My condolences to his nearest and dearest.

An inspirational man

Jan de Fouw was a mentor to me while I was in Art College in the late '70s. His words of advice stayed with me all my life, and helped me to make the success that I did. Much love and respect. And all good wishes to his family. Thank you.

My best friend in Ireland

Sad day. If not for Jan I still would be eating meat and 2 veg. He opened up the whole world of travel and food for me. Being my dive buddy we had wonderful adventures which still live on in scuba diving lore. Even though we have lived 3000 miles apart we managed to keep in contact by mail and phone. Hansi, we will miss him badly. Sincere regrets.

Love

Barry Janet Scott Ritchie and now Maeve Ria and Eileen.
