O'DRISCOLL - Dr. Denis (Westmount, Quebec, Canada, formerly of Cork City, Ireland) the eldest son of Sergeant John and Mrs Maria O'Driscoll of Cork City. Retired Professor of Comparative Education at Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada; Denis passed away at his home, with his family at his side on January 16, 2022. Denis was the loving husband of Loretto (née McCarthy), and devoted father of John (Sylvie Fortin) of Montreal, Niall (Helen Macintyre) of Kingston and Gillian (John Toth) of Westmount, and his beloved daughter Aisling who sadly passed away in 2019. He was the affectionate grandfather of Brigitte, Denis, David, Katalina, Olivia and Tara. He leaves his three dear sisters, Marion Sloyan (Limerick), Eileen O'Connell (Cork City) and Siobhán Prendergast (Bandon, Cork). Denis was predeceased by his dear brother Finian O’Driscoll of Ballyjamesduff, Cavan. He was grateful for the enduring friendship of his cousin Ann Miller of Chicago. Denis’ funeral will take place at Ascension of Our Lord Church in Westmount tomorrow (Saturday) at 7.30pm Irish time and will be live-streamed through the Kane and Fetterly website www.kanefetterly.qc.ca/en/funeral.php), accessed by clicking on his name and then service live.
