COONEY, OSA, Fr Tom (Dublin, Drogheda and Termonfeckin) - June 27, 2021, son of the late Tom and Treasa Cooney. Peacefully in Blackrock Hospice, after a long illness bravely borne. Predeceased by his sister Sheila and brothers Peter and James (Jimmy). Greatly missed by his sisters Mary and Patricia, brothers Nicholas (Canada), Joseph (USA) and Gabriel, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, the extended family and his Augustinian confrères. Arriving in the Church of St Augustine and St John, John’s Lane, Thomas Street at 6.00pm on today (Monday) 28th June. Funeral Mass will take place in accordance with strict Government guidelines on tomorrow (Tuesday) 29th June at 11.00am. The funeral can be viewed online at https://johnslane.ie/watch-live . Following Mass, burial will take place in Glasnevin Cemetery in the Augustinian plot. The Augustinians and family are very grateful for the care Tom received over the last few years from the care team in Ballyboden, the National Rehabilitation Hospital, St Vincent’s University Hospital and the Blackrock Hospice.
