McCARTHY, Phyllis, (Clondalkin, Dublin) April 19, 2018 On what would have been her birthday, November 8, her husband Donal, sons Dermot and Eddie and daughter Debbie, would like to thank sincerely, all those who expressed their sympathy, and who attended her Memorial Service at Newlands Crematorium. We are grateful for all the letters, sympathy cards, and Mass cards and for the personal visits and generosity of friends and neighbours. They all expressed deeply, the profound love and respect that they felt for her. Special words must also go to the outstanding nurses and medical staff of St. Gabriel's Ward in the Hospice at Harold's Cross, who cared for her with great kindness to the end. Thanks are due to the Rev. Anne Kennedy who conducted the Memorial Service with respect and dignity. To the musicians, Kieran Egar, Michelle O'Reilly, and Elaine Treacy, who impressed everyone who heard them play. Also to Aibhe Lee, her granddaughter, who read a consoling poem, and to Finbar McCarthy, Donal's brother who read the tribute to Phyllis. Sr. Stasia who conducted her choir for many years, was very kind to her in her last months and brought comfort to her at home. Thanks are due also to the medical staff of Tallaght Hospital who cared for her frequently over recent years, and to Dr. Ken Olinger, family G.P. who established a wonderful rapport with her over many years. Thanks also to Massey Bros. who knew Phyllis well through her professional duties as organist and with whom she maintained great mutual respect. As it was not possible to contact everyone who attended or sympathised, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our gratitude.
