FANNING, Ronan, (Professor Emeritus of Modern History, UCD), January 18 2017, in the presence of his family and the loving care of the staff of Beechfield Manor. Beloved partner of the late Virginia. Deeply missed by his children Judith, Gareth and Tim, brothers Adrian and Paul, sisters-in-law Liz and Katherine, daughters-in-law Susan and Annalisa, Judith's partner Kevin, grandchildren Genevieve, Victoria, Oliver, Alice, Daniel and Chiara, nieces, nephews, extended family and a wide circle of friends. Rest in peace. Reposing tomorrow (Friday) at Fanagans Funeral Home, 54 Aungier Street, Dublin 2 from 5.30pm until 7.00pm. Removal on Saturday to St. Mary's Church, Haddington Road arriving at 9.50 for 10.00 o'c Requiem Mass, followed by cremation in Glasnevin. No flowers please. Donations if desired to Blackrock Hospice.

FANNING, Ronan (Professor Emeritus of Modern History, UCD) (First Anniversary) - As they lovingly remember Ronan who died on January 18, 2017, his daughter, Judith, and sons, Gareth and Tim, would like to extend their deep appreciation to all his friends and acquaintances who attended the reposal and funeral Mass, sent letters and cards expressing condolences and supported and sympathised with them during the last year. Special thanks to the staff of Beechfield Manor Nursing Home and St. Vincent's Private Hospital, as well as the priests and parish volunteers at St. Mary's, Haddington Road.
