O'GRADY - Maureen, (née Grennan) ( Kilmore House, Kilkelly, Co. Mayo) - Maureen’s children Margaret, Carmel, Michael and Liam, along with our families, wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to our extended family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and Maureen’s past pupils, for all your support and kindness over the past year. For the great comfort we received through the wonderful stories and memories of Maureen, which you shared with us through your letters, mass cards, texts, emails, phone calls, beautiful flowers and messages of condolences on RIP.ie and MidWest radio’s website - Thank you. To those in the media who remembered Maureen’s life in articles in the Western People and the Mayo News - Thank you. Because of Covid restrictions there were many who could not join in her funeral in the usual way and we thank sincerely all those who participated in her funeral Mass online, from cars, or standing, outside St. Celsus church and later, at the cemetery. We wish to thank all those who lined her route from East Galway, on Redmount Hill, and later, through the streets of Kilkelly, both before and after her funeral mass. A very special thank you to Fr. Vincent Sherlock for celebrating a beautiful and special funeral Mass, and to Murphy and O’Brien Funeral Directors for their sensitivity and professionalism in the challenging times of a pandemic environment. We also wish to thank those who prepared her final resting place at St. Celsus Cemetery. We are conscious that, due to the restrictions, we missed the opportunity of thanking you all personally. Please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation.
Maureen’s first year anniversary Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, October 24, at 11.30am at St. Celsus Church, Kilkelly.
